Job interview in Morocco: the 10 questions to prepare

The questions Moroccan recruiters ask most, what they're really checking, and how to answer them clearly, in French or in English.

2 min readUpdated November 1, 2026

Interviews in Morocco usually happen in French, in English for many multinationals and offshoring centres, and often in several rounds: HR, then the manager, sometimes a test. The same questions come back. Prepare them once and you'll answer with calm.

The questions you'll hear

Prepare a short, true answer to each of these:

  • Tell me about yourself (Parlez-moi de vous)
  • Why our company?
  • Why are you leaving your current job?
  • What are your strengths and your weaknesses?
  • Tell me about a difficult situation and how you handled it
  • Where do you see yourself in five years?
  • What do you know about this role?
  • When could you start?
  • What are your salary expectations (prétentions salariales)?
  • Do you have any questions for us?

Answer with stories

For questions about your experience, use the STAR method: the Situation, the Task, the Action you took and the Result. Two minutes, one example, a figure if you have one.

Talk about salary with confidence

Before the interview, find out the usual range for the role and your experience, from people in the field and comparable job ads. Give a range rather than one number, and say it's open to discussion depending on the whole package.

Before and after

Re-read the job ad and the company's latest news, prepare two questions about the team and the first months, and send a short thank-you email the same day.
